Vet Work In the Community

This Friday we had some excitement in the community. Dr Pak was able to find some funding to vaccinate against rabies virus in the village. GVI volunteers helped to round up as many cats as they could, then go about the vaccinations.
In the first photo Abby, a 6 week volunteer, is actually checking the body temperature of one of the cats. She was able to assist Dr Pak with many routine checks during the vaccination and check-up procedure.

After each cat received rabies virus vaccination and checks were complete, the volunteers gave them a tag and collar to indicate they'd been done and to avoid repeats. It will be interesting to see just how long the village cats will be sporting their fashionable new tags and collars.
