Elephant in Profile: Mana

Mana is one of our 5 elephants and each week volunteers have been writing entries in a diary about their observations of her in the forest. Below are a few entries about wonderful Mana, enjoy!
May 27 – Mana was super gentle today and loved her bananas. You can really sense her power which can be sometimes overwhelming, so I’m looking forward to working with her more and getting closer. Mana is incredible to care for Bpee Mai, particularly as she’s been nursing both her son and Song Kran this week. She is a wonder woman/elephant! – Clare (Blue Mountains Australia)

May 13 – Mana is a beautiful mature lady who very much likes to please herself and leave Bpee Mai to his own devices. She has been calm most of the week and particularly enjoyed banana feeding time on Monday. All of the elephants clearly care a lot about one another and I would love to come back in a few years to see how they are getting on. I have very much enjoyed my experience and Mana’s beautiful hazel eyes. – Kayleigh (Birmingham, England)

April 22 – Today was my last day with lovely Mana. She is such a sweet mother elephant. Bpee Mai is a little monster and she seems to accept his crazy hyper moments. She has shown me that she is calm, loving elephant. I will never forget Mana because it is impossible to forget her kind eyes and heart. – Jamie (USA)
