My home-stay experience with Goh

My name is Henri John and while volunteering in Huay Pakoot I have been hosted by Goh and his family at one of the newest home-stays in the village.
I love being at Goh’s even though it’s the longest walk away from base hut and you do get the best view of the beautiful jungle.  Goh is a happy soul who loves to speak English at every opportunity even though his English is not that advanced.  Goh is always up for practicing and always does it with a smile.  He is also a massive football (soccer) fan.  Unfortunately, I don’t know the name of the local football team that he supports but is always wearing his Liverpool shirt.
Goh is not always around but his family will always go out of their way to lend a helping hand whatever the situation.  All of Goh’s family now make fun of me because I asked Damron (Goh’s older brother) to get rid of what I considered to be a massive spider.  Apparently it wasn’t such a scary one because they did it without flinching.  Goh’s older sister is the one who will cook all of your food apart from breakfast that is, as all the volunteers eat breakfast together at base hut.  The entire family has been very welcoming and I’ll be sad to leave.  The food at Goh’s is extremely yummy and you always get at least 4 new dishes every week, the best dish so far (in my opinion) has been fried aubergine (eggplant) mmmm...
