Biography

Sawyeh, sometimes referred to as James Franco due to his uncanny resemblance to the American actor, grew up in a neighboring Karen village. He went to school there until age 12 and became a mahout in a camp as soon as he left school.  He moved to Huay Pakoot in 2003 when his cousin, who lives here, told him that the village was in need of a carpenter. Soon after he moved, he fell in love with For (old chief’s daughter) and married her. They now have a daughter together. His wife’s family owns Sen Jep and Mario, but Soway did not become Sen Jep’s mahout until 2013 when old chief decided to retire. Before becoming a mahout, Soway mainly spent his time working in the fields. Soway has never been outside of Thailand and does not plan to move from Huay Pakoot. He does, however, hope to save enough money to travel to the Western world. In his free time, Soway enjoys hunting. He describes himself as shy, family-oriented, and optimistic.
